At present, the Chinese economy has developed into a new stage. Over the past 30-odd years, the annual rate of economic growth has remained close to 10 percent, creating “the China miracle”in world economic history. But now, both the internal conditions and external environment of economic development have undergone great changes, which means that the target for economic growth needs to adjust to a more reasonable range. China's economy in the new era will have three major features: (1) a transition from high growth to moderate-to-high growth; (2) gradual optimization and improvement of the economic structure; and (3) a change from an investment-driven economy to an innovation-driven one. If we are able to fully understand the new characteristics of China's economy and properly handle risks in the economic adjustment, our economic growth will move toward a more reasonable approach. Our industries will also become more competitive internationally, and the Chinese economy will have a more profound impact on the world.

当前，中国经济已经发展到了一个新的阶段。过去 30 多年间，经济年均增长率接近 10%，创造了世界经济史上的“中国奇迹”。但是现在，经济发展的内在条件和外部环境都已发生了深刻变化，要求经济增长目标转向更合理的区间。新时期的中国经济将主要呈现出三个特点：一是从高速增长转为中高速增长；二是经济结构不断优化升级；三是由投资驱动转向创新驱动。只要我们能够深刻认识中国经济的新特点，正确对待调整中的风险，我们的经济增长方式将更加合理，产业的国际竞争力将大幅提升，中国经济对全球的影响也将更为深刻。
